Into the Woods es una adaptación cinematográfica del musical de Broadway ganador del premio Tony, de James Lapine, con el legendario compositor Stephen Sondheim, quien también se encargó de la música original, con nuevos arreglos para la versión cinematográfica. La música juega un papel fundamental en la dirección de la película y se presenta a través de números musicales al estilo de Broadway, interpretados por estrellas como Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, James Corden, Chris Pine, Anna Kendrick, Johnny Depp, Joanna Riding, Lilla Crawford, Billy Magnussen y Daniel Huttlestone.
